I looked in my FSM and it only shows the rubber bumper in the upper right of the picture above the axle. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. The jeep does have the hd suspension because of the v6. The springs are flat and as you can tell from the pic it's been this way for a while. Thank you for your help.

Hi Jason, I've got a Ren 1 and 2 in the shop so I will check to see if they have anything like that. I also have a couple of cj6's too with HD rear suspension. I'll check those also. I'm out of town visiting my kids at there home but I will be home tomorrow. Happy Easter!

It looks like the bump stops that were on my '73. it could have been added on at some point.

Personally I don't think it's original. Maybe someone put that on there to keep big tires from stuffing up into the fender?

this is my thoughts on frame bumper , the one spring is hitting . it keeps the driveshaft from hitting the starter on V6 models when front end is compressed

I thought that was the purpose of the bump stop visible in the upper right of the picture.

Yea, the v6 bumper was on the side of the frame. Not between spring and frame.

NOT trying to change the topic . but as you see . some front axles didn't have a out side bump stop . maybe 71 only . but did have the spring stops on both sides . but I don't use them . just stops over axle

Interesting. You still have the frame mounted bumper though on the outside of the frame rail. Just not the arm on the axle

    That definitely is interesting.

My 71 has the same setup as Ron's photos above. I just replaced the stops above the axle tube with poly units and they will be the only stops. I plan to cut off the bumpstop brackets between the frame and spring and just leave the bracket that's outboard of the frame.

You real 1971 Tuxedo Park (8322)? I have never seen one later than 1968. What is you serial number? What original color?

For that matter, I have never seen a 1968. Everything I have seen indicated that 1967 was the last for Tuxes.

Thanks for the responses. Hopefully in a few weeks I can get this thing up and running. I have been trying to decide which suspension and tires but I think anything will be an improvement at this point.
