Hah, I took these pictures back at the beginning of August with the real camera and forgot all about them. I rediscovered them tonight when uploading other pictures. I like the shot with the moon.

That'll buff right out! My vote is grey, I think that would look great.

  6. like to pull the body off, then patch it up and paint it. maybe go through and paint the frame/running gear. no room/time to do it now, got 4 other projects to do. not all are critical, but 3 of them need done somewhat soon. too many projects, not enough time.

By chance the weather was no s announced, no rain! Cold, but no rain.
So a little lesson of drive in 4x4 on muddy track for my son.
He understood the difference with 4x2. On muddy grass, the Jeep is like a boat on water..; no control.
    In 4x4, no problem.
We went to the waste to throw glass bottles and paper, and back by tracks between the fields.

Some night shots help the paint a little.
All too true, I feel your pain.

  9. a 4.3 needs rebuilt (for a forklift, essential to sell to get funds), my passat needs a clutch, and my sisters s10's transmission needs rebuilt. then there are the jeep and our old suburban (1970), which both are "fun" projects. the suburban engine is getting rebuilt, and the jeep needs brakes and then that work. then with school and work, there's no time for any of it, so we have a bunch of projects sitting around that need done.

School and work? Man, that is a full time job! You definitely have your hands full for sure. If I were closer I would lend a hand, could use the experience. I rebuilt my Mercedes diesel automatic trans and all the suspension but I'm yet to do a manual or even an engine rebuild. It's on the list though.

I tried to upload a couple pictures of my CJ but it said "uploads unavailable". Worked on the test thread but not this one.

  11. dad works 8:00 - 5:00, and brother and i have school 8:00 - 3:38
i would say to start do your cj (if it needs it). it's really simple, and fun. you can get a haynes guide, theyre quite helpful. Jeep CJ (1949 - 1986) Repair Manuals

Good to see people with nice projects...This is life.
I stopped my projects really some months ago after putting tiles on a wall, 3 days of work.
Then arthritis took the control and I understood the message.
I cannot change my parts :D so I change my habits.
It works well becauwe my wife accepts now the idea that our house won't never be a palace.
At 40 I could have but at 73 ...acceptance is the rule.
All the big work was made 4 years ago so all works well but deco is not perfect...
    Adaptation.
But my CJ5 bought in 2011 is working nicely and I can use it when sunshine, like today.
It brings me so much happiness, driving on tracks inthe countryside, I feel I am 20 :p
So much joy, freedom feeling, master of the world...(y)

    Well said, sir. Well said.

My honey do list is still alive and well. I have to find excuses to go work on the Jeep but I haven't come up short yet.

I am sure the jeep will let me know, even if I'm not ready to tackle the job. I will be right back here with all my questions. I actually picked up a 73 TSM. Not sure how normal it is to sit down with my morning coffee to read my TSM but I do that all the time!

When I was about 13 and in grade school I saved my money and bought myself a factory service manual for CJ-2A , 3A, and 3B. I still have it too.
My teacher had to take it away during class more than once! :study: I was obsessed with it. If they had given me a test on that book I am sure I would have gotten an A+. I had bought an old 2A that did not run or have any front fenders, grill or a hood. for a hundred dollars.
So began my life long obsession with jeeps. :D Would not trade a moment of it for anything.

Memories. As a kid, I would spend hours going through my Dad's Chilton/Motors manuals and my Grandpa's old Audels Automobile Guide from the late 30's.

As a young-un, I use to go to the local Texaco station with my dad, owner's name was Bud, place was just Bud's Texaco. He gave me a manual on how engines worked, and I saved my pennies and bought one of those see through functioning engine models (Revell), man had a blast putting that together and watching it run. Fun stuff.
