I finished the motor mounts, and got the engine/trans assy bolted in place, then rolled the frame out to meet the body with it's new floors
and supports. The body mount holes even lined up.

Installed the new output seal. Sleeved the output yoke. Put the parking brake and driveline back together. Topped off the transfer case ( wore a bunch of it of course) bolted up the skid plate.
Tomorrow make my oil pan " girdle" fire it up, check the timing ( had the distributor out) hopefully it doesn't self drain once it's hot...

Oye ya that sucks. I'm kinda at my wit's end. If it leaks again I'm going to install a rope seal and not use a pan gasket, just sealer.

I simply patted my Rosie , resting under her car Cover , inside my shop. We live in the suburbs , so she's not allowed to go out at this time of year. :(

I've used both cork and rubber now with a plethora of sealers.

Mine has a chevy 2pc rear main. It only leaks when it runs.
If there ain't oil under it, there ain't oil in it.

Oil pan? do you have a bash plate on the pan?...i ask because a spot weld on my bash plate to pan broke and it took me a while to figure out where the leak was coming from...when the engine warmed up it would get really bad

    Today's win loss column:
Made a girdle to spread the load at the back of the pan.
    IMG_20210221_153507251~2.jpg
Still leaks like a sieve. Film
After sitting 2 weeks it runs like crap..

    Win column:
The brakes are sorted out nicely.
The new output shaft seal and sleeve seem to be working out well.
The ebrake is back in order.
Impressed that I can pull the distributor, rotate the engine by hand and still get the distributor stabbed back in within 4°

So I've ordered old school rope seal and going to go sans pan gasket, sealer only.
:shrug:I dunno...I can deal with garage spotting but I can't ignore this. And what's up with the damn carb!

Hi y'all! made it past the freeze; it's like it never happened now!
Today I got to play with my winch, it's not screen correct, but it is a nice looking winch. A Ramsey 8500.

I took it all apart and scraped out the crudy grease, washed the parts and re-greased. I did media blast the painted parts and meticulously sealed so media wouldn't get into unwanted places.

I modified the winch mount a little which can be seen in the beginning picture. Then got a new nylon 3/8x92' rope. I'm waiting on new decals to finish it off, but I'm pleased!;)

I'm going to install the solenoid/remote box under the hood~ ;)

@Rich M. Do you have a PCV valve on your engine? Does it work? Too much positive pressure in the crankcase can cause seals to leak.
