You didn't think this build was just going to end! lol

There is 90wt leaking from the inner part of this speedometer gear. I don't think it's the threads. 90wt is inside the screw-on speedometer cable. ideas?

I machined out the housing and installed a valve stem seal. Leak free since 2017

In the meantime, I put a perfectly fit o-ring and see what that does. I took it on a short drive (couple miles) nothing so far~ meh, if that fails, then I'll seek Mcruff;)

You could put a rubber seal between the speedo cable and the drive housing. Oiling the speedometer cable wouldn't be bad.

wait until ya want to replace the speedo gear/shaft bushing that is located in the bearing cup....fun. I made a special slide hammer to do it.

I am doing a 68 also but no where as nice as yours , your de tales of your build it so awesome , I was just putting my front drive line and notice that you had put the slip towards the front yolk , I have a service book and its not very clear so I was wondering if it matters ?

Yeah.....You don't need to machine anything. Just an " O " ring type seal on any screw type , seating , fluid stopping fitting. That's how the engineer's originally designed most of these.

I went to Lowes and stood around, no plans of what to buy, then it hit me~ it was simple to make! I have a bunch of cans I can probably toss, but looks neat. Really cleaned out some of my cabinets~ I was always looking for paint all over my garage~ now onto the upholstery thingy;)
