You could look at the reluctor prongs in the distributor base. Even fire has 6 evenly spaced prongs. Oddfire is unevenly spaced. Not as surefire as looking at the crank, but one more clue.

I had to get this thing onto an engine stand so I had room to pull the Jeep back into the garage. The clutch looks brand new.

Tried turning it over. Not budging.

2gal of water and 1/2gal of oil came out tonight. I removed the alternator bracket and the 5 blade fan. The carb was very rusty inside so I chucked that and texted the scrap man. Unless anyone wants a part I’m getting rid of it ASAP.

I would think the exhaust manifolds and valve covers would be useful for someone....

Did you figure if it was even or odd? I need a pair of odd fire heads....

The 5-blade fan is probably useful to someone too. Also the thermostat housing if it's not corroded.

Front dump driver side. I thought most of us took those off for steering clearance. Otherwise they are in good condition.

Got the fan on the shelf. The housing didn’t look good. Those are cheap and easy to source.

I didn’t but still might pull the oil pan off. The heads might be salvaged but I was just disgusted with all the water so I kind of pushed it into the corner.

Not everyone has swapped to hanging pedals...A lot of used cj5s that get bought have rusted out fenderwell headers on them, and I think the manifolds are actually better - space issues aside.

If you're going to part-out the engine, someone might need the alloy timing cover w/oil pump, and the flywheel.
I might be interested in the flywheel.

I could use the 5 blade fan. That is if you don't want it.

So far I managed to save the alternator bracket. I totally rebuilt the broken ear and ground it up. I may build it up a little more. I still have to test it with a piece of all thread.

How do the journals look? If there was oil there's hope. The fhead I recently took apart was in a flood almost a year ago and full of water but the crank, rods, and block were still salvageable.

Engine is gone. 5blade fan and this alternator bracket was all I think I saved.
