Digging around today looking for one of the 3 intake manifolds I thought I have, found one correct for a 225, but it ended up having a crack near the temp. sender. Next, found this one, but the casting number is different and the heater return is in the front. Anyone know what this came off of? (maybe passenger car?) And could I use it on a jeep? I know it fits because I took it off a 225 I have.

Does it have egr port in the back? If so might be odd fire 231 and it will fit the 225.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

I always thought the heater hose outlet was passenger side rear on the manifold.
I have my temp sender mounted in the outlet you are showing with the hose bib.

Nothing exhaust related in the back. The only difference I can see is the heater port in the front instead of back. But 231 oddfire is an interesting idea.

This doesn't have the heater in the back, just the front. And yes, the sending unit usually goes where the hose fitting on this one is.

But this one does not have any port in the rear, it's in the front by the front mounting hole.

Looks like the one I had off a 1965 Buick skylark? do the heads lack the air intake tubes?

I'm sorry, I could have done a better job on the photos. Circled here is the heater port in the front that I have never seen (on a jeep).

My temp sending unit is there. I use the port by the water neck with the barb and the one on the water pump for the heater  Is that manifold large bore or small bore 2G?

:lol:I'll throw back in & then shut up here.......I'm think'n like Chris posted . It's likely off a late 60's, early 70's Buick car. :susp:....:)
    But alas , it's not.
    It's from a :
1960 's Buick Oldsmobile Kaiser Jeep 225 V6 engine Odd fire CJ Special
This is from an old Ebay search for the #.......So it has to be right ?

I'm pretty sure the large 2GC never had those exhaust ports under the carb.

Member here 44bz (Zach) posted here a couple of years ago pictures of a 2A he bought with a Buick 198 engine. Looks to me like it had the intake manifold you are trying to ID.

As far as I know the 198 uses the 215 v8 deck height of 8.960" while the 225 uses the 300 v8 deck height of 9.54 inches. A 198 manifold will be too narrow to fit a 225. Offenhauser lists seperate part numbers for 198 and 225 manifolds.

Yep and I have a 198 Offy intake and can confirm it's too narrow for a Dauntless.

I'm thinking that may have been off a marine (225) engine. I'd dry fit it and compare the ports on the intake gasket. If its all kosher run it.
