Anyone done this? It looks likes it would be super tough but I thought I’d ask. Pictures? Thanks

It can be done. I used a frame mount from an intermediate CJ, which places the box lower and closer to the centerline of the vehicle than most Saggy swaps. This enables the steering shaft to run just under the manifold and just to the inside of the exhaust pipe coming out of the manifold. The shaft also runs under the front crossmember instead of having to cut a hole through it as most people do.

Would it be too much to ask for a picture or two of the steering box, and how it is mounted? Please?

    P.S. Your engine looks nice!

My Dad managed to do it on his flatfender and even has a PTO winch shaft toot. It's impossible to get good pictures because there is so much stuff crammed into a small space but I have a few.

He has factory Jeep V6 motor mounts welded to the MB frame. He put a pillow block on the top of the motor mount and used a compact U-joint next to the fuel pump. PTO shaft is lower and to the left:

Here's a more top view. Note the home-made heat shield on the exhaust, steering shaft between the fuel pump/exhaust, and the PTO shaft below the fan blade:

He has his steering box mounted the same height as the frame rail with the top bolts going over the top of the frame:

I read your post of your father’s Jeep with the custom 4x4. Very impressive! Following some of your threads, it’s clear the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. (y)

Tough to get good pictures of this, but here's mine with the cast iron intermediate cj5 bracket.

I got a bracket from McRuff, don't know if he is still making them. Had to notch the motor mount for the steering shaft. I got a front dump exhaust manifold, PM me if you want it.

I have the 2 piece bracket I got off of a 77 CJ7. If someone needs them let me know.
