Wow! It should be placed in a museum just as it sits! With the chains on and everything

I think it has been repainted. It looks like the underside of the wheel wells have been painted black. The whole tub should be the same color.

I suspect so too. Too shiny for its age? But nice.

If it was just used to plow a driveway & stayed off the salted streets it would have avoided the rust monster.

That does look like a VERY original example. Yes, inside floors and inner fenderwells are painted black, but no obvious overspray. Even some paint wearing through in the door opening. Amazing to see the original “strap” style top on the rear curtain.
This one would need to be studied close-up to verify the claims, but is certainly one of the more original examples out there.

If it was repainted it was a while ago 'cause the rust looks original.

I think that's the floor drain you're seeing there.

In your defense original rust holes are much more prevalent than original floor drains. :)

I have seen this one in person. That black paint you see underneath is dealer applied rubberized undercoating. It does show some signs of slight rust under the undercoating but no rot through. The white paint is original and in very nice shape. It has not spent much if anytime sitting outside. It was originally owned by a gentleman that used it to plow his own driveway and kept in his basement when not in use. It has been sitting inside a garage just as you see it in the pictures since the late 80s/early 90s if I remember correctly.
