Projection - Analog or Digital (2D)?

    Forum Search

Yet another post about fuel injection on the 225.....

I have read lots of great stuff here regarding the Holley Projection and have heard several people be successful and a few that have not.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

Several options are available in the poll.... if you have done this install first hand I would love to hear the obstacles you encountered and how you were able to get it to work.

    THANKS

    ehauff What? What? What?

Dont think you can run the digital on the oddfire engine. The analog works becuase it only looks for an ignition signal to make sure the engine is running. Digital i belive gets confused on the oddfire signal. Maybe wrong but i belive thats why everyone runs the analog.

Glad you brought this up. I've been wondering as well. Just didn't need to know just yet. Need to spend $$ in other places first.

I installed the Digital [(2d) little square computer]. Closed loop kit. It still takes it signals off the tach and doesn't seem to have any problems. I went out and started it up last night after about 4 weeks of sitting and it fired right up and idled perfectly. One other advantage to the 2d kit is you can get the smaller injectors for it and make it a 400 cfm kit. The only problems I had were 2 crossed wires. One on the fuel pump and one on the TPS. Other than that install was really straight forward. You could do it all on a Saturday. Let me know if you have any questions. I have pics if you want to PM me too.

    Thanks for all the info...

Do they still make smaller injectors for the analog system? If so any body know the part number?

with respect to the smaller injectors, aren't the throttle bodies the same?
my projection setup was originally the analog ECU, but I've replaced it with the digital ECU, I have a 308 CI V8

I am not sure when they made the change but the newer TB units have a different style of injector (I think they call it pod style or something like that) and that's why you can swap over to the smaller injectors they use on the brand new 400 CFM Commander 950 kit. As far as I know, they don't make smaller injectors for the earlier TB units.

I am not sure, I know they updated the injectors recently and I don't think you can even get injectors for the older units anymore, they will sell up a "Pod injector" upgrade or something like that if you want to replace an injector. That's the reason I can't understand anyone wanting to run the analog ECU, it's old technology, Holley replaced it for a reason...Mine was the 2D from the start and it's been perfect.
