Have one or two stuck lifters and been thinking of just replacing them. At least 5 of my buddies keep ragging me out saying i should drain a qt of oil and throw that marvel mystery stuff in. Has this ever worked for anyone ? Thanks

That's exactly what I've done, and it has worked well for me.
Drain a qt out, add a qt of MMO in. Start it up, let it idle for awhile.
Now I substitute a qt of MMO for a qt of regular oil at every oil change.

    Whadayagottolose? :)
    Try it, let us know...

used to use a qt of ATF, drive 400-500 then change oil, high detergent, cleans out alot of stuff.

You could add Seafoam to the oil too. I've never tried it myself, I've been an ATF fan long as I can remember. Probably cause I always had a couple of quarts of that laying around. I'm kind of cheap that way . That and I'd never heard of MM Oil til a couple of years ago.

Have not really driven the jeep much since this post. Too much work had to be done. I have driven it a few times so far this year and it still taps away. Drives me nuts. Last weekend I added a 1/3 can of seafoam to the oil and will put a few miles on. I did add MMO last year. Did not seem to help. Starting to think I'm gonna have to change the lifters.

Might as well change the cam too if it's got a lot of miles. Just my opinion, but I think worn cam lobes is one of the biggest power robbing culprits there is. The shorter the cam lobes get, the less the valves open, and we know what that means....

I've always been told you shouldn't put new lifters on old cams, or old lifters on new cams. Both should always be new because of wear characteristics, etc. Also always use a good cam break-in lubricant. So I've always been told.

New lifters on old cam is ok, maybe not ideal, but not like new cam with old lifters, ruins the lobes on the camshaft.

Motor has 50K on it. Be a shame to change the cam but I was considering a edlebrock

You don't maybe have a bad rocker arm/pivot or a slightly bent pushrod?

true never put old lifters on a new cam,new lifters on a old cam that is not worn out i have done, and have had no problems, the thing is that the angle of the cam lobe will rotate the lifter push rod and valve to wear evenly, use a good break in lube, trw cams use to come with it,havent bought one in years though, the lube is sticky almost like honey
