Nope...its the real deal 41 Lincoln Continental coupe, one of just over 800 produced that year.
It belonged to my wifes grandfather, been in the family since 52.
Gonna end up with a 427 ford, c6, ps, pb, indy front end....got her stripped to the bare metal, it'll be this winters project;)

Should have the 6 back together by next tues....

a few pics of the exterior paint, not perfect but better than I could've imagined. I have some black to paint later, then all back together tomorrow. Gonna undercoat the wheel wells
There's definatley a learning curve for paint and body:rofl: , but came out alright for my first attempt at such.

hey it looks GREAT! I love how the seats came out too... I'm glad you went solid orange rather than doing the interior in creme like you'd talked about... the orange is HOT! dang, I'm gonna wanna drive it you know... :)

looking good... so what do you have left to do now? I know you said paint the other parts black... what after that? any other mechanical issues to deal with or will it be ready to be your main rig?

is your DS helping out with this at all? I bet he's just loving working on it with you... very cool... stuff like this is the stuff he'll remember his whole life...

I'm waiting for some parts I ordered...needed some seals and some electrical parts, etc. before it can all go back together..
I'll use it and a motorcycle for the summer...I'll probably swap in a later model chevy 4.3 with a 4 speed and ps,pb later in the year..
The boy (and the girls) are lovin helping out...they really love cruzin in it:)
You know your welcome to drive it...once a jeep chick always a jeep chickR)

Been working hard to get Kahuna back on the road...
    hood back on...check
    radiator back in...check
    dash and instruments installed...check
    lights installed/wired up...check
    rollbar/seats installed...check
Time to test wiring job...headlights fine...blinkers fine...brake lights....honey hit the brakes! squish squish I guess while putting the radiator in I jostled the line to the front pass side to much, split right near the drum.
I guess now's better that while going 40mph...
things were going way to easy I guess:rofl:

OK got Kahuna back together....things I've learned
    1) it comes apart alot easier than it goes back together
    2) when working on the radiator don't pull to hard on the front brake line:)
    3) I can indeed bend up a new brake line, and bleed brakes
    4) working on wiring is harder than it looks
    5) follow directions when you paint, it'll save alot of work later:rofl:
    6) upgraditus is VERY easy to catch
    7) it costs more than you planned....

still need to get/install seat belts...need to put on a bikini top,,,get some electric windshield wipers...etc. etc.

Thanks to all that helped out in the tech section...it helped alot
This summer I think I'll tear it back down, do a v6 with ps-pb

The wheels came with the rig, I assume they're original
Probably paint the emblems white/ put one on the tailgate as well

Mike you may be jealous, but your alot farther along as far as running gear...I'm sure when I tear mine down for drive train swap I'll be jealous of you playing in the dunes while I'm busting my knuckles.
You have any pics of how you mounted the drivers seat? I need about 3" more leg room, back mounts are easy, not sure on the fronts. I'm assuming you added room for those dutch legsR)

That was the prevailing choice in our family council...just made a defiant pick when standing in front of the paint:twisted:

I had the seat mounts integrated into the rollcage (although I still had to jeery-rig the drivers seat as the cage fabricator didn't get it right):

Basically I added a couple inches to the front of the seat sliders then offset the mounting points. This way I didn't have to change either the rollcage or anything on the seat itself.

Not sure if you're running the early or late seats though...are they coil sprung or foam?

They're foam...Looking at it I think I can fab something off the door sill rail, bolt it in extended toward the rear...a jeepers build is never done:) .

    Rondog just hangin' out

That's awesome!!! I vote for black lettering though, I just think orange and black are a better combo that orange and white. Black would really stand out, and match the wheels too.

Are you going to take it to show the previous owner? You really should, just to show she went to a good home and you're treating her right. I'm sure he'd be pleased.
