Herms dual master cylinder kit

    Does this setup stick out further than the OE setup?

    I was looking at SSDutch tonight, and between the exhaust and BH there aint much room right there...

    With ross steering, I think there really isn't any way to fit a booster in there. I've seen a number of hotrods that run a backwards mounted MC, some even with a very small booster... something like that might work?

    If you happened to have power/saginaw already, I don't know, a hydroboost setup might work?

    I've been looking at these for a while, but haven't done it because my Jeep stops pretty darned well with the manual discs up front.

    If anything, I think I'm going to bite the bullet and do the rear disc conversion and change out the MC for the Wilwood dual-chamber model with remote reservoirs.

    Sorry...I wasn't clear. I put the hanging pedal/boost unit/mc from a CJ7 in Dutch -- that's how I had power brakes. I saved the whole setup.

    SSDutch has a saggy conversion, but with exhaust/BH/Clutch linkage for the T18 there still isn't much room.

    I don't feel like I actually need power brakes - I can lock them up as is. I'll probably either see what it takes to use the CJ7 stuff w/o the boost unit or go with Herm's kit.

    I am a bit stuck here, I am tring to hook the lines to the MC, but the holes on the MC are not the 3/8 (3/16 OD Tube) they seems to be 1/2 (5/16 OD tube)

    How have all of those run your 3/16 OD brake lines to the MC ? I have checked around for fittings and haven't found any inverted falre unions that would go from 3/16 tube to 5/16tube

    Had the same problem on mine. With the L-head (or at least on my jeep) there is definately not room to run the adapter you are looking for and the 3/8" thread type 3/16" tube fittings (on the rear most fitting, however there is room on the fwd boss). BTW, I found these adapters at NAPA).

    They make 1/2" thread fittings for 3/16" tube. I think they do this to differentiate between "disc brake" and "drum brake" applications (on some cars/jeeps). I had to go to several parts stores and every single ding-bat behind the parts counter was like, "duhhhh... we have adapter fittings?" Eventually I just went back behind the counter myself and found that most of these places actually sell the 3/16" pre-flared tube with both the 1/2" and 3/16" fittings. Anyway, the piece of tube I bought had the 1/2" thread on one end, 3/8" on the other. I had a dual flare tool, so I just cut the tube in half and used the 1/2" fitting on my custom lines.

    Note: I also tried Herm's banjo fittings, not enough room for those either!

    With both adapters in place. (this WILL NOT FIT once youp put the engine in. Also note, the fwd ("REAR") fitting/line almost hits the steering link.

    With engine/trans in and 1/2" thread 3/16" tube fitting on aft ("FRONT") fitting. It almost doesn't fit. There was not enough room to put a banjo fitting here--I tried.

    This place has the reducers and the banjo fitting if you need them. They may not show it on web site, but they have them. I used the banjo fittings for the clearence and for the reduction of the lines. Give them a call.....
