Quick towbar question

Where should I put the mounts for my HF towbar. I was thinking just inside of the framerails and I will end up putting my recovery points just outside of the framerails so I can brace them down the frame for strength.

And yes today I am hopefully going to work on Chia some, might even pull him out into the street just for some fun.

Typically, the farther apart, the better. Adjustable tow bar I assume?

Yeah it is. I was wondering if further apart= better. It would make sense that that would be true.

    Edit:

would it be ok to go a few inches outside of the framerails on the bumper? or will I bend the bumper doing that?

I was always taught as close to the framerails as possible.

Too late. Mine went just outside of the framerails. Not a problem though because I was planing on bracing the bumper back to the frame there soon.
