I was looking at the cross member issue last night. I have a 1 1/2" square tube, I think if I cut it down a bit I'll be able to use it. If I'm still getting flex I'll probabley mount a winch plate and gusset from it. Mcguffs plans called for a gusset on the back side of the mounting plate to the frame (not shown in my pics) I think it will help a bunch.
    Paint color/block......Ford blue baby!:)

my front cross member needed to be placed on top of the PS mount so I had to cut down the 1 1/2" square tube, then box it in for strength. Also got the motor mounts welded up (a friend that's a pro welder did it for me).
Just need to move the rear cross member to accomodate my rear tank then I'm ready to paint the frame.

If you're asking about the plans for the PS mount.....they're in the tech library under the saginaw steering header....Mcguff did a great job on CAD drawings and explanation making the job much easier

welded tabs on the gas tank, moved the rear cross member to make room for the tank. I flipped the frame so I could weld some places I missed. Gonna go pick up paint and start on that tonite. Hopefully things can start going back together this weekend:)

If I don't blow my budget on the 6 (R)by too much) the plan is to work on the Lincoln this winter. I'm planning on a 390/C6 w/ PS-PB...retro rod...leaving it looking original but driving/ handling better. Lots of work and money

got the motor/trans/tc bolted together and mounted in the frame. I'm going to have to modify the trans crossmember or fabricate a new one, tomorrow nights job I suppose.
Spud....linked my photobucket account...in no paticular order, another time I guess

fabricated a trans/tc crossmember outta parts on hand tonite. I moved the original cross member back to the last set of holes, and spaced them down on each side using 3/4" plywood strips. I had to move the "torque doughnut " up toward the frame rail. I extended the crossmember toward the rear using a piece of 1 1/2" angle iron, then mounted the trans support from the T-90 to it. I needed to fill the space from the support to the T 18 so.....I used the cutoff from my bumper mod:), perfect fit. After a long night of fitting/welding/ and wrenching it's all together.
