Dumb Question about exhaust.

On my ol 55 CJ-5 i have no muffler or any kind of exhaust execpt on the exhaust manifold is that robbing me of power and its loud Heck. View attachment 21594 were you see the exhast manifold the pipe is about 10 inches long. one time the clutch pedal got so hot it metal part of my boot when i would shift {or stop cause of no brakes] p.s the question is havein no "exhaust" robbing me of power or hurting my engine

exhaust probelm/question

On my jeep the exhaust is gone the only thing it has is a the origanal pipe from the exhaust manifold its right by the steering box. THE MAIN QUESTION IS, is this lack of a exhaust makeing my engine lose power!!!!http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif
