Drop Pitman Arm?

After working out my upper body strength last weekend in Borrego, I'm convinced I need an ally in my battle against 4wd steering and the powerlock. I know Bob's trustworthy and reliable, but unfortunately I'm afraid he won't always be around the second half of the day. :D

So Betsy has a 2.5" Explorer Pro-Comp lift and a pair of 1.5" Con-Ferr shackles, should I consider a dropped pitman arm for the box or will a normal arm be fine?

It would decrease the angle on the tie rods and reduce bump steer.
Not much short of ps will help arms and shoulders though.

What does your Jeep have now? I can't remember if you already have saginaw...

I've got manual saginaw with a McRuff frame plate already drilled for a 4-bolt box. With the exception of needing another flaming river u-joint, it should be a bolt on switch.

Steve (cj5/442) let me know if you think I should award jpflat2a with a trash can!

The McRuff plate bolts the box on pretty low and flat IIRC. Might not need a drop.
My dad used an AA mount, and a pitman for a YJ, and it's fine with 3" BDS springs...FWIW.

Through my extensive secret network of jeep parts sources, I've become aware of a 1.75" drop pitman arm. I think that might do the trick. Gonna look tonight.

That seems a bit small for manual, even Saginaw...
