fool lines

With all the alcohol they put in it for "smog" purposes. The alcohol sucks the water out of the air when exposed to it. If you look at new vehicles the fuel lines and such, have it in stainless steel for that reason. Even the exhaust pipe is made of it.

You can do it. Just take your time. Look twice bend a little at a time. Test fit repeat as needed.
Another option though spendy is to go with braided lines from Aero Quip.

Also, should the fuel pump be mounted lower than the tank?

 

If you mount the pump to the frame it will be close enough it won't matter. The trick is to keep it close to the tank.

 

Yes sir it's not cheap. My sand rails all have had it for the oil cooler/remote filter lines and fuel lines. Looks great though.

 

Ok, I have enough steel/rubber to do the job, but, I can't figure out where to mount the fuel pump. Looked under the jeep, no room there, inside, still tight... The only good place looks on the fender but you guys said it's a pusher not a puller. so what do I do?

 

You may need to go toward the rear with the pump and then route the lines the fwd.

 

So far this is what I've come up with. Bit of rubber to the hard line, out the floor

Then, under the body is my fuel pump to a hard line


line runs under the body

Will be secured with clamps to hat channels
Then up the firewall
where it will go rubber to the carb.
Bueno or no?

Yep only one question, is the metal line where it goes through the tub protected by a rubber gromet or piece of fuel line?

Sammy move those inside the frame rail, it will be a little work and you'll have some more bends in it but it will be very protected. Where you have it now a stick or something could come up and grab it causing problems.

 

Go buy some Adel Clamps and fasten the fuel line to the frame. They will keep the fuel line from rubbing holes. They come in various sizes and you need ones that fit the line securely. For those that may not know what they look like...

Hmm. If I'm seeing correctly, you're running through the floor at the front of the cargo area? I'd be concerned about protecting this section of line from feet/objects riding in the back. Could you run it between the socks? Or maybe on the left side of the tank?
