I brought home two great barn finds today. 1962 Surrey Gala and a 1948 CJ2A. Both have been sitting in a shed since 1976! I don't know if I should keep the surrey "PINK" or swap it. My wife and daughter kind of like it. Where can you get Surrey parts. I am missing a rear crome bumper and some other minor pieces. Here are the pictures.

WOW, awesome find on the Surrey Gala!! I have read that there were only 1,089 Surrey Gala's built between 1959-64, so good luck finding parts for it! Also, IMO as ugly as the original pink color maybe, I think you should keep it!

I hate to ask how much these set ya back, but I am curious...

The front and rear bumpers are the same (chrome) and I believe are the same as for the Tux series. Didn't the Jeepster use the same ones?

Great find! Keep the surrey. IT's way cool and needs to be restored.

    X2!

That Surrey is really worth something, should really be restored, and left ugly pink! If you don't like the pink and are only looking for a flatty to run around in and modify you could probably sell the Surrey to someone who really appreciates it and get a good chunk to put into the other one. It's in really amazing shape and has most of the hard to find little parts still on it. The other one looks pretty good as well. Really great score!!!

Boy oh boy - that Surrey is a gem. I'd rub it out and keep the 'patina' intact. The '2A is cool too.

It's not that we hate you, we'rejust jealous.

And yes, I second the motion, keep the Surrey as a Survivor, get it cleaned up and road worthy.

    Congratulations.

I am almost embarrased to say I only paid $1750 for the pair!! I steam cleaned it today and started buffing out the oxidized paint. The ugly pink is comming back very well. The driver side seat bottom is worn out, but the other seats cleaned up well with 409 and steam heat. My plan for now is to finish buffing it out and make it runnable, I should have the engine running by the weekend. Then going through the brakes and boiling out the gas tank will take a little time. Still not a big project and not alot of money invested. The 1948 CJ2A is for my 14 year old son, we will be working on it together. I will keep posting progress as we go along. We have only had it home 24 hrs and is quite a conversation piece around town. Thank you everyone for your posts, this is a great site and a great resource.

The Surrey alone is probably worth twice that.
