soft top trouble

    i have a best top soft top on my 73 cj5
    i tightened it up the other day to make it look nice and now my passenger door doesnt close and the drivers is hard to open and close
    any hints on how to fix that

    What type do you have? Tiger or supertop?

    i fixed it i just made sluts out of the hole on the braket that the door hooks on to it works now. the brand is a best top

    one more question will a 76 cj5 hard top fit a 73 cj5

    Nope-76 was the 1st year they sloped the windshield back, the top is quit e a bit different because of that.

    You can make it fit if you use the 76 windshield frame.

    Sorta kinda. You have to push the mounting holes around (as I understand it) but it will fit with some persuasion. It won't just drop on to the existing hinges.

    yep.......couple weeks ago I helped a member mod a 76 soft top to fit a 74 cj5, it was a pain and still didn't work right.......he paid $50 for it and wanted to fly with it
    right top will make everything easier

    Just got the windows on my ‘74 soft doors re done. Went to put the doors on and they will not line up!?

    was this top on the Jeep previously?

    Yes it was, the door frame is hitting the edge of the tub and the buttons along the edge don’t line up.
