    Hammers are made to convert potential energy to effect change upon some object.
    Thumbs are not made to absorb energy.
    Neither is the back of your hand.
    Both locations when mashed have an elemental truth serum they impart.
    ...
    Five year old daughter's wisdom... daddy, you are not supposed to hit your thumb with a hammer.

    Oh, "biscuit - it hurts"... How right... How obviously right.
