My home made transmission tunnel is fitting pretty good to my surprise

 

Enough grinding for one day

Flipped her around today and started the other side of the tunnel

Focused today on plugging the unwanted holes in the firewall.





I am sooo tired of welding and grinding so I laid down some fiberglass today



I didn't want to use wood like the factory did in the spare tire hat channel so I bought one of those real dense plastic cutting boards to cut and use

 

GO Man GO!...i love watching the progress...gives me inspiration!

 

How to fill a hole..... insert steel rod, weld, cut flush, grind

 

Just going to start going around 1 corner at a time, fixing welds, bondo glass then bondo

 

Some progress today, using bondo glass for the rough spots then plain filler to clean it up

How I fixed the after market tail light panel being shorter than side panel




The side panel was a bit wavy probably from all the welding so out with the fiberglass......what a pain to sand

 

I usually grind the first coat with a flexy disk.
