Scrapping my Commandos - what should I keep

After a lot of gut wrenching back and forth, I've decided to clean up the yard and get rid of my Commandos.

What bits and bobs should I keep (no garage, so no storage space for big items):

    V6 emblems
    HEI ignition
    DJ5 fiberglass fenders

    and...

They are both in very rough shape, my plan was to make one out of the two, but with no garage they are just rusting away in my yard. No titles for either, they're worth more as scrap around here, no demand for Commando parts as their are only a couple in the province. I'd be willing to ship small parts as the buyer's cost, but the rest is mostly just scrap metal to most people.

    I'll give you $50 for'em

Seriously, I sold them to you for what- $250? You should be able to get that back if not more.

What do those have for drivetrains?

Hard sell around here on the fender...I think I talked you down to $200.

They both have Dauntless 225s (I've had both running, but not for a couple of years), T86 and Dana 20. Axles are Dana 27 front (one Ross and one Saginaw steering) and 44 rear with flanged axles and center diff - 3.73 gearing.

I might be interested in the HEI ignition... Would you PM me?

    Thanks,

What can the DJ5 fenders be used on? I'm guessing certian years of CJ5 since Howard had them as well as Commandos.

P/S is always sought after (ahemm). The rear 44s should sell and Dauntless parts like dipsticks and exhaust manifolds and 2G carbs, etc.

Hi there I might be interested if shipping isn,t too bad. i live on opposite coast. In Salmon Arm BC
front drive shaft if the splines are in good shape.
    maybe the 2g carb .
The clutch cable bracket if it is has the cable clutch, that mounts on the transfer case. And maybe some other odd and ends.

I guess I better create a for sale thread before Howard comes down and smacks me upside the head and takes his fenders back. Please respect the forum rules, I'm only asking what bits and bobs are worth holding on to without keeping a pile of parts that take up as much space as the Commandos.

Wow, I have to say that I'm amazed. I started pulling parts from the Commandos today and everything came off so easy and one of them sat in the woods for 14 years.

Alternator bolts came out without a squeak as did the starters. Carbs spun out with my fingers after starting them. The hood emblem nuts all came off. Even the screws in the door panels came out...although, after taking them out and removing the window assembly from one I found that the V6 emblems were stick on.

One thing I had forgot was that one of them has dual saddle axillary gas tanks filled through the front fenders.

I know its been awhile since anybody posted anything. I'm new to the site. What does the tailgates look like? I have a 1973 jeep commando and need a tailgate and the mounting hardware.
