I don't know if I've said it before, but I'll say it anyway...This is one of my favorite Jeeps! Your son's lucky to be next in line!

These are pretty stout. I can jack up the whole side of the Jeep by the step/bar.
A careful eye can sort of see the disc parking brake in there, too.

Thank you Patrick. I like the way they mount. I've been playing with different ideas for mounting to avoid headers and exhaust.
Did you do a write up on the disk Emergancy brake? I had one saved but it disappeared when the cite changed over.
    Thank you for the pictures.

No. My Dad built that when it was his Jeep, using parts from an All-Pro Toyota kit. I can get pics of that, too, if anyone wants.

I would appreciate pictures and any other information on the Emergancy brake set up. The stock one leaves something to be desired.

I've had many stock emergency brakes, and I've made them all work very well. The disc doesn't work any better. I mean, it absolutely holds the jeep, but so does the drum. Either way, I'll get pics here in a bit.

A 1/2" plate was cut that bolts to the back of the case, and the All-Pro components were welded to it. There is also a girdle sandwiched in there.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I wanted to replace the 13" wheel with a 14". Never had a wood wheel, so I figured I'd give it a try. Yes, I have wood in my Tuxedo.

So the Dynomax Super turbos were too loud. They just dumped under the rear of the Jeep. I bought some Hush Thrush turbos, and some mandrel bent pipe, and I already had a couple bends. I finished today, pics in a bit. I'm not real happy with how had to run the tail pipes, but I had no choice. I do like the way it sounds now; much more quiet.[IMG] [IMG]

I got the (quieter) sound I was looking for. I'm not real fond of the tail pipes, but this is the best I could do with the mufflers under the back. I got more clearance over the axle than I had. The mufflers are as high and as far forward as possible.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

It drives me up the wall that the driver side tail pipe is lower than the passenger side. Not sure how that happened.

Yesterday I pulled the transfer case to replace the intermediate shaft and bearings. Here's the parking brake assy., removed. It's back together and driving..

And shortened up the tail pipes. They would've gotten torn off..

    Shorter tail pipes look good.

Can't believe how clean that CJ is underneath!
