This bracket was not used for anything when I removed my 67’s front clip. What is it for? Thanks

M38A1 grille with chrome overlay and modern indicators. Early 50s. Notch at bottom is for a Saginaw steering conversion. upload_2018-5-1_12-6-8.png

Interesting frankengrill. Started as an M38A1, which could be anywhere from 52 to mid 60s, but because of the mount it's not the earliest. Modifications have eliminated anyone looking for a military grill and at the same time anyone looking to do a civilian restoration. The chrome work takes it in an event different direction. $100 grill at best and that's a stretch.

Thanks folks, I thought it looked like an M38 grill due to the depth of the headlight buckets.
but now I know so much more. :)

Is this horn a stock Jeep item or is it a random GM one that someone installed?

I've never personally seen that on a jeep, but our '66 IH pickup had maybe that exact horn.

I know what the heck this is. Thought this might be good place to share a previous owner’s creative fabrication

That looks like a 1960's General Motors low-tone horn, used on any number of vehicles from that era.

Am I missing a factory emblem where the red paint is, or you reckon that’s from an add on by previous owner?
    Thanks

That spot and holes are from a previous door hinge.

Does anyone know what the adapter is on the back of this dauntless? I’ve rebuilt a couple and neither had one.
