Anytime you want to press something with a C clamp it should have ACME threads, never fine threads or V threads in general. I've always tightened the clamp on the hand press and then smacked them with a hammer to shock it loose.
C clamps do not have much clamping force, it's why machinist generally use Kant Twists, they have 3-4x the clamping power.

The main chain parts stores have free rentals.. Just use them no cost. That's what I do.

You pay for tool, use tool, bring tool back, get all money back. Basically free as long as you bring it back.

Smack it, turn the clamp in a little, smack it again gets you a little farther, turn the clamp a little, and after a little while, the stuck piece is free.

But then I have to go out into public twice. :shock:o_O

Came from our favorite place of hate and discontent..........I even use my 1/2" drive titanium IR impact on it.......good for 800 ft lbs......put a little anti seize on the threads and let the impact eat........
