I don't know the brand of muffler you bought but you could look at something like Walker mufflers. The one listed for your jeep for example is the same shape as the ones you purchased but are only 17.5" long. Looking at other brands will give more options.

I ran dual Walker quiet flows when I had fender well headers. Now that I have novak headers I run a single Walker quiet flow ss. It is very quiet.
You might be best served by a 2 into 1 single tail pipe setup.

The long version I bought is a Walker quiet flow and that side definitely sounds better than the random 2 chamber FLAPS one I bought, looking back I should have bought the shorter walker. I like ITLKSEZ idea of going to a junkyard and finding a couple mufflers off a modern car that would fit, guessing those are going to be the quietest thing out there. The mistake I'm making right now is trying to get this done quick for the upcoming Deer Valley trip, I never do my best work when I'm trying to rush for a deadline. It means I'm going to have to revisit this at a later date .

Where is your cross over? Want to keep everything above frame rails if possible.

I don't have the big 4 speed trans, but I also run a 2 into 1 set up with the crossover tucked up just in front of the trans and above the skid plate. Granted the size of the T14 gives more room... we'll see what happens if I ever get the t18 in there. I run dual system on the 58 because the sm465 is huge making crossover in front of it more difficult, and with the longer wheelbase and widening frame rails it works nicely. It's worth the effort to get it right...replacing glass packs with quiet mufflers are some of the best mods I've done, even when paying for some shop work with pipe bending.

I was just laying under it looking where a cross over could go, the SM420 is huge. I want to stick with the dual and have a shop do some bending and get it right. It takes too much out of me to do it myself and I'm not great at it.

When I had my V6 and SM420/20X-xfer setup, I ran dual pipes clear to the back corners and had the pipes run along the inside of the frame rails. I installed the crossover behind the X-fer case. Used 1 3/4" pipe for each side and 1 1/4" pipe for the crossover. Designed the crossover so it could be unbolted thus giving easy access to the trans/xfer area. Worked out great.

My setup is a little different because I have Novak Headers.
It crosses from the left to the right in front of the oil pan.

Regarding your headers, did you have any clearance issue's with them? Such as Sag steering?
    Thanks, Jim

I run a single exhaust. The cross over is behind the transfer case.
