Windshield Rubber Insulator

    When I removed the rubber insulator between the cowl and bottom of the windshield I found that the front part of it was glued to the windshield with silicone adhesive. is this necessary when putting the new rubber on?

    No. Should go together dry. A PO was trying to stop the old gasket from leaking.
