I have come up on a stumbling block with my T15 to D20(case only).
Of course the T15 has a countershaft and reverse idler shaft sticking out the back of the case

and the D20 case that I was going to use as a super 18, does not have a relief area for the shafts. Small hole D18 on the left and D20 case on the right. What the heck?? Did they build auto only versions of the D20? Can I take it to a machine shop and have it cut to match the one on the left?
    thanks in advance

Take a gasket with that works with the Transmission and transfercase. trace the reliefs onto the 20 case mill depth to match the 18 case

    Bowbender I'm workin' on it!

If it were mine, I'd make sure the case is thick there, mark the outline of the relief I want, set the depth I need on my drill press and drill/ remove as much as I could that way. Finish cleaning it out with a die grinder. I'm a little bit of a hands on caveman that way sometimes. I don't have a milling machine, but I don't think that relief needs to be that precise.

Feel free to ignore my thinking, others more knowlegable may shoot me down.
