Q & A On My Jeep's Tires

Discussion in 'Flat Fender Tech' started by millennium falcon, Feb 5, 2019.

  1. I've had a few questions asked about my tires lately so here they are.... They are cooper stt pro radials.
The size is 215/85-16. They are load range E. They are on 16x5.5" wheels. I am running 1" spacers (to clear my rotors) They measure about 30" tall and about 7" wide. I run them at 15-19 psi. I am tubeless and have had zero issues with them. Ive run them in snow/rain/mud, so far I am very pleased. I have put about 1700 miles on them since last spring.

Great info Seth, thanks for posting. I have a set of 16's and have been considering tire options, these looks like a nice option.

Those tires are cool! I have an original set of the old Town and Country's but I won't use them much on the 64 CJ5 (If I ever finish it.) Got additional sets of wheels.

These would be great for cruising around.

That Jeep is cool and those tires set it off.

If they wear as well as it looks, I'm sold.

  9. Thanks guys! The wheels were on the jeep when I got it. The guy told me they were on a willys pickup. I painted them "almond" its a Krylon color. I love it. My other jeep and my toyota have the same colored steel wheels also.

Most of us would almost kill to find a set of 5 1/2" or 6" x 16 vintage rims!

you should definitely sell a set! I might even know a guy who needs some....

  13. Interesting... I measured them when the tires were off and thought they were cool and I liked the size, but I had no idea they were so desired.

I'm looking for a slimmer tire.
    But I have 8in rims.
    Wonder if they would?
And,how bout the deep soup mud, how do they perform, looks like they would!

  15. 8” would be a little too wide for a 215 Imo, I think they make it in a 245/75-16. That’s what my spare tires is. That would be a better fit for a wider rim. I haven’t tested them in deep mud, but I’m guessing they would clean out and dig pretty well. There are some good reviews on YouTube.

i like those, if i switch from swampers on the 3B, those in a 32 " version will work nice

I had forgotten what new tires felt like?
Was worried that the new skinnier tires wouldn't go in mud as well as my 20 year old 32s?
But OMG, they crawl, where I used to have to nail the skinny.
    I ended up with.
    31 x 10.50 x15s mud claws, they measure bout 30.5, and are 1in narrower.
    Thanks.
