1973 Driver's Tail Light Spacer

    Anyone know how it was made? I see shallow stamped cups for sale. Seem to recall mine may have been solid steel? Been so long since Ive seen it I cant recall.

    Found one on ebay about a month ago. Bought it.looks correct. I think it was NOS . Don't recall the seller. mine is a stamped cup same as o.e. afaik. I still need the rubber washer thing that goes between body and spacer.I'll probably just make one mike

    Yep. Not solid steel. Stamped sheet metal. Goes: body, rubber washer, standoff, license plate bracket, light bucket.

    I can't speak to what the intermediates use (though I think no spacer), but the 1960''s models that originally had Hall 701 lights used a cup spacer on the left side light (the one with the license window) to space it out about 3/8" more from the rear crossmember to help illuminate the license plate. The plate mounted directly on the crossmember.
    Its been so long since I've had my '72, but I don't remember a spacer. The Grote lights were a deeper can with the larger lense. I'll guess they appeared on CJs around '68/'69?
