Yup - I was hoping for less, and I finished the first year a bit ago, but about 2.5 is my average for one with this much work. Paying bills and other parts of life keep getting in the way :susp:

Guess that means I have about 14 months - still shooting for this summer.

So time for another update - I've been working on it kinda spotty when I get the time. I'm going to push to start getting color on it in June. Schedule is impacted by having to go to the farm regularly and keep Mom going as well as the TONS that need work around there.

Shift in the 'Fuel Delivery' method. Normally I build a custom tank. Steel prices being what they are, I fount it cheaper to just buy a new tank. I use '78 tank parts for the builds, so got a '78 tank.

I also decided to go with an internal pump assembly for this one and found a reasonably priced Holley setup that provides the required 58psi AND it was designed to fit in this tank.

I'll be starting on the tank install along with finishing out the frame once I get the tub off and start putting color on it. The plan now is to go front to back and button up everything outside the tranny tunnel and get ready to paint.

After finishing setup on the radiator like I wanted, I opened up the grill to get a good air flow through it.

Got that put back on and things seem pretty good - one bolt left to clearance and its ready for paint...

Now - should it be the body green or make it and the windshield white with the Oliver Green body

Next was to fit the headers...

    Got to cut this nice firewall I worked on :drool;

In the end, its not so bad, and things look to fit pretty good.

Now I have to do the other side this week and I'm close to done on the body.

So that means I need to figure the paint out this weekend and get it ordered... maybe I'll flip a coin.

Is there a particular reason why you went with fenderwell headers over the Novak units?

Was wondering the same thing myself...

I have a set of the Novak's sitting in the bin for the build - I just don't think I'll have time for it right now. I've been having good luck with the SuperTrap Tunable mufflers (its what I have on the '49 right now). I can quiet them down pretty good. If I don't keep this one (which is the plan right now), I'll probably put the Novak headers on and build an exhaust on the '49 or even change out the '51.

Well - plans go awry and my back didn't allow me to work on things as planned. So here I am. July and color still isn't on the tins. After another injection - I'm back on things and hoping to be able to put more time in.

So far this weekend I cleaned up the shop. Put the '49 under a cover out front, separated the tub and frame again:
    Tub back on the rotisserie.
Got the drive train under the hoist.
    Pulled the engine and tranny/tcase

Got them swapped around so I can put the frame back on the lift. Got to finish the front cross member, cleanup the boxing, fix the P side shock mount, clean up some frame holes and brake line mount points, then I need to get the rear tank installed.

I did get the rest of the tub in primer - want it nice and solid before I start hitting it with color in a couple weeks.

Got some time off mid July. After some time fixing some more items on the farm, I hope to squirt some color and start to get a feel for what this will look like.

Surprise, surprise... I got to squirt some color today. On the tub at least. Went so well I was wishing I had the other parts prepped and ready, but I'll get there.

I'll probably let this cure a bit. It will need some holes cut for the swinging pedals and steering column. I'm also trying to decide what to do about the gauge cluster area. I have a dual custom setup I'm going to put in.

I'll try to get on the frame items I want to address next - I forgot to post that I missed putting the rear tub supports back in - had to do that before I taped the bottom for the color.

Pre 1952 Oliver Green  Cost me $15/gal as they were liquidating the stock and the niece wanted a Green Jeep...

Now to decide if the Grill and WS are white - or Green...

Its got white spoke wheels - not black ones - but that is my original idea. Not sure the wheel color needs to play into the body. The real problem is the windshield I have for it is white

I've never seen a white windshield on a CJ...it might look good. I think white tops look great.

I sold 2 of them and the venting windshield was white as well - I looked in the stash, and it appears I have a good black one. I'll dig it out and see if it will work with a bit of touch up.

Getting things ready to go out for surgery. That will put a hold on things for @ 5 months... Just wondering what I can get done with the back like it is as it's really limiting things.

Racked the front fenders and put some undercoating on them.

    Getting the Grill primed

Got to dig out the hood and tail gate.

Goal is to get color on all of it before surgery on the 8th, but will see how I hold up.
