I don't know what this material is called, it was used on new cj5's between the top of the radiator and the back side of grill. It was purpose to fill gaps and keep air flow through the radiator. It looked like a horse hair / straw material the was stapled or placed there befoer radiator was mounted. Does anyone know what I am talking about or has seen any of this material. The early mb and cj2 and 3's use a filler material , but not like this.

Do you mean the material in between the rad and frame at the top (see pic below)? I'm pretty sure mine is original. It's hard and petrified now and I'm not sure what it was made of now. Haven't ever touched it since I've owned the Jeep. Didn't want it to fall apart! Mine is held in by 2 bolts through the frame, not stapled. The only thing I have that's "stapled" (in a way) is the "welting" material. That's not near the rad on mine (it runs around the top edge where the hood rests) but that stuff is available from a number of parts suppliers.
