Yes it was, operating temp is anything below not having water (sometimes that’s not even true). So essentially, the water could be boiling, but as long as it’s still in there, it’s fine. One of my throttle governed engines boils the water just sitting there running at a slow speed. As long as the water level is above the cylinder in the hopper, it’s fine. These things have very larger tolerances. I’ve seen them seize up from getting too hot and then once cooled off, they run fine. Also, a fair amount is cooling is done during the coasting through the exhaust, cool air sucked in, hot air sucked out.

I run a couple of my other engines with ZERO water in them. They run so slow, that enough air cooling happens. With water, they would run too cold!

Didn't they used to call generators dynamos. I think it sounds cooler.

Dynamos were small generators used to create a spark on an engine, like this one on my 1905 6HP International.

I finally remembered to get cloth covered wire for it and wired the ignition up. Now it is all done! Too bad all the shows are cancelled for the year. :waiting:

What is amazing is all of the different external moving parts that had to be engineered and fabricated to make this run. Amazing.
