Does anyone know of a supplier for the lower and upper air plates inside the throat of a WO carb? I have two carbs and they are both rusted and pitted badly.

ScoutPilot.........member here and/or on the 2A page. He does Old Jeep Carbs LLC (I think that's the name). He may have the parts you need. He'd be my first try anyway.

"WO" stands for "Willys Overland" if I haven't lost my mind. And yes, ScoutPilot is the man when it comes to these old carbs. Very good reputation on them.

It is the carb used on the L head engine. The F head uses a carter "YF".

I was just thinking about you. My 55 Willys has a solex that does ok but I have a Carter the PO gave me. I’ll be giving you a call. thanks.

the fuel pump that was on the 55 finally quit but it doesn’t appear original so I’m not sure it’s worth a rebuild it does say made in the USA on it. Do you rebuild fuel pumps as well? The 55 is so original I’d consider going with the glass bowl type but they seem hard to find.

    Montanacj,

The F head engine in the CJ5 I just brought home has the glass bowl version. It is a 67, and I don't know if they differ. I won't be using the F 134, but may try to get it running, but that will be done with a boat gas tank hooked to the carb as the old gas tank isn't usable. If you would prefer to have a glass bowl pump to rebuild I would either swap with you, or give you a low price on it.

It has sat for more than 40 years and the engine is stuck, but does move a little. I have squirted some Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders. I only want to get it running to test the winch, then I will be swapping in a V6.
