What could possibly go wrong? I've done that too, but the warm water seems safer!

Also I have lots of "slightly older" cans around, so they can clog the nozzle unless I shake them for an extended time. I imagine warming helps.

I once tucked one into a hot air duct to arm it up, 20 minutes later there was a rocket shooting around the garage leaving a black trail everyplace it went.

I used to let the rattle cans roll around the bed of the old ranger under a tonneau cover to keep them stirred. I've never thought about heat. Does it stick better?

I set them on the mantle by the pellet stove. I doubt the air around them is 80 degrees. Once in a while I will set them on the top of the stove but then you can place your hand in the same place so less then 120 degrees most likely not over 100°

  10. you can always heat them up with a torch...

I've never had a problem, but I do put a spray can in my paint shaker now n then. sometimes I also cut the can open to put the paint in my spray gun (mainly for larger objects to paint)

When I painted my compressor, the small cans spray leaving "lines" you would see, open them and put into my 3m accuspray gun, get a professional result;)

Anyone else cut the cans open after they’re used up and save the marbles? I did it as a kid; old habits die hard.

I don't but I do punch holes in them before they go in the garbage.

I've used one of those electric coffee cup warmers for spray cans. Slow gentle warming. Except in the summer 'cause I'm looking for a shady spot to spray out of the blazing hot sun.

I do the same thing with my wood glue in the winter, but on a candle warmer.
