Not exactly. BDS's instructions tell you that you may need to add blocks under the frame bumpers. Specifically, you want to prevent the fully collapsed shocks from bottoming before the axle hits the frame bumper. You can also use shorter shocks (factory compressed length) but with the higher ride, this may seem like too short a shock absorber.

I think it's usual for these kits to supply longer shocks, and it's up to the installer to verify that they won't bottom out before the axle is stopped by the bumper. Any shocks with a compressed length longer than what the factory supplies will need spacers under the bumpers.

Another option is to raise the upper shock mount above the frame rail and allow more collapsed length for the longer shocks.

I can’t address the flexing since I haven’t had it in that situation yet. But I’ll try to take measurements and additional pics when I get home this afternoon.

That makes more sense. I made block extensions from square tube. As far as leveling, the factory fix... put blocks between the spring and axle...front too low so put blocks on the rear. Thanks.

the ubolts are indeed 1/2” diameter.

Not sure what the question was about u-bolts... however, my BDS springs came with 1/2" u-bolts. Not an issue for me since my '75 already had 1/2" u-bolts. Some earlier years have 7/16" bolts and the usual treatment is to file the original plates' holes outward so the larger bolts fit.

Thanks. BDS descriptions are lame for information.
