did some searching here but not finding a whole lot of what I am looking for. I pulled mine out of the dash to paint dash and fix up the speedo. ( I rebuilt my old Bronco one with no issues and redily available parts from suppliers in the Bronco world). I am not seeing parts like that around or info for rebuilds. It seems as if the rear of speedo is froze up. The needle is off of it also and all the numbers are pretty much white from sun fade. Anyone point me in the direction of parts and tech on doing this? I dont want to install a newer style and the mileage is correct to the Jeep. 68xxx something.

    Thanks, Larry

There are speedometer restoration shops out there you can find by searching online. However, they typically cost $600 these days.

You can get new speedometers from Omix-Ada, but they tend to be junk.

You can also occasionally find NOS speedometers on e-bay but they are also getting expensive.

Your best bet is to post a WTB ad in the forum classifieds and a member will probably sell you a decent working one for a reasonable price.

Yep, not recommended. Way better to find a serviceable used unit.
