I think (don’t know this for sure) that the gears are still made where they were made before terra flex quite having them made. However these may be marked (stamped) different than Terra flex

So it all leads back to herm in some way or another. The question is can I (and others) trust AA.

I’m saying I don’t think the quality of the product has changed but I don’t have any recent experience with them.
I bought up a spare set before Tera Flex they quite having them made. In fact I bought them through Herm as I had done several times prior. I just never ask him any questions nor do I ask for his advice on anything. Nor would I ever buy any of the ATV mfg.products.

Yes. Advance Adaptors is a reputable company. They are in many ways the original supplier for early Jeep conversion parts. Of course Novak is also one of the best.

As a pro-Herm customer, I recently bought two Tera-Lo gears from him to replace two worn gears. Transaction was easy, quick and pain free.
Yes, Herm ol buddy is unique. Just gotta know his limitations.

When I do take off the PTO, I assume that I'll need a cover on the end of the overdrive. Is that the same as "Novak's PTO port cover" ?

Are you talking about a side PTO outlet on the transmission?
Or a PTO adapter from the back of a Warn/Saturn Overdrive?

I mean the end of the overdrive, where my PTO currently sits.

This is the bare overdrive case.

This is the Overdrive case without the PTO adapter, and the stock rear cover.

I guess I'm just confused why most of this thread advises not to do it?
Even with the Tera Low installed the PTO adapter still works.
It does move the PTO shift back, so you need a new hole in the floor, or a custom PTO shifter.

Post #7 mistakenly says the PTO is before the overdrive. It's after.

As you can see, the first photo I posted shows the whole think assembled without the bdy installed. That is a CJ6, so there is more clearance lengthwise. If there is enougn clearance lengthwise on your Jeep I would still support it somehow.

Because the OP doesn't have a PTO winch, or anything else that would power off a PTO.

Ah, I didn't notice the OP doesn't have PTO accessories.

The cap is 911326 for $33.53 at Advance Adaptersor I have a scraped on that was painted gold that I don't need

Thank you. I wasn't having any luck looking it up and worried it would be hard to find.

He's been on the forum three weeks, sounds like he's had the jeep a month and wants to dump a bunch of money into it without really having any seat time.

But we do like spending other people's money...

I did them before last year's trip and got 119;1 with 5.38's. Only used super-low a few times. With the OD, the best part was 2- over, at like 60:1-ish. That was the perfect Rubicon cruise gear. And Advance told me they buy Tera from ATV/Herm. He is the one making them. My advice, buy from AA, at least you can use a credit card and don't have to deal with Herm.

I won't be able to get working on that for a while. Probably 4 or 5 months unfortunately. I'll post it up here when I do get it off though.

I have a lot of dreams for this Jeep, a lot of time to research "upgrades," and no time to use the darn thing. That's not good combo financially.
