Is there such a thing? I just took the hood off to repair the hinge and I noticed that there is nothing to stop the rain from running under the hood and down the firewall. Is this right? The hinge is pretty hammered, so I'll have to try and repair this one or find a new one.

Thanks, jp! Is there a source for the hinges? I was going to try and save it, but it disinigrated just taking the pin out. (What fun)

Try Walck's 4wd. They don't list a hinge, but do list a hood gutter. I'm not sure exactly what it is though might be what you're looking for. I would think he would have the hinge too.

A hood gutter is attached under hood beneath the hinge to keep water from gathering around the spark plugs. The first night I had my 2A home it rained, next morning I opened the hood and the spark plug cavities were filled with rain water. Easy enough to make your own.

I noticed Walck's didn't list it, but I found it at Kaiser-Willys supply and ordered one.

I am still not sure what the hood gutter should look like. Does anybody have a picture?

Thanks coby! I have never seen one of those. Looks like it would be easy to make. Now I'm glad I asked! :D

If you are going to make one I would make it a little longer to cover the V6. I know when she sat in the rain I would get water on my V8 intake.

I have used a piano hinge that you can order throu McMaster Carr to repair my hood. It came in a 3 foot length I think, so we did mine and my Dads. You gotta cut it to length and do a little welding, but its a really nice hinge.
