I've got the 5.0 installed and all the wiring between the original harness and the 5.0 computer harness installed. I'm getting the correct readings at the coil, but no spark at the dizzy. The car that the 5.0 came from ran great before it was pulled. I'm getting correct readings from the TFI plug in as well. I can hear the computer relay switching on. I've checked all the grounds, retraced all the wiring.....AAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!
Is there any way for a laymen to check the ign module and/or the dizzy pickup short of purchasing new componets?
    Thanks, Jim

I have a very simple module tester in my box at work. Just uses clip leads and a 9V battery. I wish I could fax it to ya.;)

Might check with some of your local shops. Not sure about FLAPS, they'd probably rather just sell you a module.

OTOH, you could buy a module, and if your old one turns out to be OK, you'd have a spare to carry.

Oh, if you hadn't guessed, right now my money is on the module.:D

that might work....Napa lists several modules from inexpensive ($40) to $165....think the $40 unit would be alright?

On some things I'd say yes, not sure on the modu. Brakes are the biggie.
You know that some folks only want brand X or nothing. The FLAPS mark stuff like that up huge.

Guees it boils down to this, would you trust Fly By Night part or a known name like Motorcraft, Bosch, Goodwrench, Mopar etc. Even though most stuff is made at the same plant diff QC.

Ya better know about parts. R)

Wish I knew the answer on the module, for a test one I'd spring for the basement price.
Like you said if it is not it he has a spare.

I had an 85 ford with an EFI 302. I can't remember where I got the info, but I had values for each pin on the module and used a regular old voltmeter. My module was bad and after replacing it with a $40 one from Kragen...she purred like a kitten.

I don't think it would turn over, or even have power at the coil. Or injector pulse.

That should have set a code if the pickup was bad. (no PIP input)
    Did you check codes?
