This came out of my 1980 and is a four speed. The following is listed on the top:

    Ford RF-D97R-7222-AA
    13-32-097-902
    3

    Please and thank you. :)

13-32 tells me that this is an SR4 tranny.
Generally considered a light duty tranny.
Found in CJs in the early 80s, usually behind the Iron Duke 4-cylinder but sometimes behind the 258.
Weak at best behind stock engines; not a good candidate for any beefed-up powerplant.

Good. I have a professionally rebuilt T-18 swapping in and picked up an SM420 for free and it is beautiful inside. May go in the other CJ.

    I meant 1982 sorry.

If it were a T4, what would it have said other than the 13-32? I was told originally it was a T4.

The T4 is identified by the same number sequence:

    13-51 xxxx is a T4

    13-52 xxxx is a T5

Your T18 will show 13-01 xxxx
