'71 CJ5

    Ok...time for an update.

    Ok, brakes adjusted and good to go. Clutch is adjusted and the beast moved on her own, granted only about 5 feet, but it is progress. Got the headlight housings cut for the new headlights and the turn signals drilled for the LED lights.

    The wiring is going to be challenging, decided that I am going to put it under the dash for a cleaner layout.

    Someone asked for a better picture of the LED halo on the headlight, this picture is a little better then the previous picture. Also, a picture of my main gauge.

    Well, been a while. Got the lights done, now have the gauges to go. Have the transmission and transfer case out, worse than I thought. Not only had a bad gear, the shifting tower on my transmission has a big ol crack! So off to my local transmission shop, cause he has an old Willys wagon that he pulled out his transmission and transfer case out. He was nice enough to give them to me, so I will be swapping cases and the twin stick. I have parts on the way from Herm so I can complete the rebuild.

    I also, had to drop the fuel tank, because my rear cross member need to be replaced with a more stout piece. So I am waiting on those parts and then will get it down to the welder to get it in. I love going backwards! :mad:

    But, with the transmission out I can work on the gauges a lot easier!

    Did get some of the final painting done. Decided to paint the roll bar the same as the jeep....man what a pain!

    Oh, I also, now have a T90 if anyone is in need of one.

    Been a while since I have posted an update. I have the gauges almost completely wired up. I have to get it to the welder to have a new rear cross member welded up (don't ask). Then the fuel tank gets installed and I am close!

    About the led you put in the front flasher, does those have two intensity like the oem one (parking and turn) ?

    Nope they only have one intensity. At the time I could find what I was looking for. I did finally, find some. They are smaller so I will have to modify but they should work well.

    Pretty easy if hole si to big, just spot weld a washer with the right inside diameters.

    Keep on the good work, can't wait to see it fully assembled :)

    The piece that is there now is too weak. So I purchased a replacement.

    Do I spy a temp plate in the rear window of new JK?

    Like the turn signals and led front signals, what parts did you put in there. Looking to go all LED on my 62 cj5. But having trouble on the fender turn signal and front signals..

    It is not a temp plate in the window, but I don't have the plates for it yet.

    My fender lights are set up as just markers. The front are turn. I did find some three wire lights and I will change them out soon. I can make the side lights turn if I have to.

    Set the roll cage in...Looks great!

    Except I have to cut the side rails off, since I can't get in. Well CHIT! I fit fine when I had the other steering set up.
