Is there a master cylinder out there that can handle a front disc/rear drum set up and bolts to the original frame mounted location in an early flatfender (specifically my MB)? Or do I need to just start wrapping my brain around a hanging pedal conversion in conjunction with my front axle swap?

No Clue. I *think* you can probably use the dual reservoir out of a 70-71 CJ5, but I don't know what the mounting looks like in an MB. I'm using the one out of a mid-seventies Ford Econoline...

    No. :(

The retrofit kits from Herm or R&P *might* fit but the MB frame is slightly different in that location, even the later CJ master cylinders don't fit.

I rolled my own mount to bolt to the stock frame holes -

Thanks. got something to read the next couple days. I'm cool with fabricating brackets and such as long as I don't need to change the pedal location. A few months out for that upgrade, just trying to plan this thing out. What really sucks is all this awesome weather we have n Southern California right now. Every day I wish I had my jeep to drive instead of that POS Ford Focus commuter car....
