My '46 has welting on both of those support brackets.

    Update on this part:
Turns out this is emergency brake cable to frame clamp. Just goes to show never can tell what you might find in bucket of parts that comes with a Jeep. My '71 has mounting provisions on rear cross member, but has TC brake.

Stumbled across it in a couple other posts, check reply #6 in each if interested.

I called my dad and asked him; he's about 98% finished restoring his '46 2A. He agreed on their purpose and installed the same welt kit without even questioning what it was for.

But this brought up another question. My 3A grill has holes for rivets to hold the welt on those brackets (like yours), but not the long section along the top of the grill - as if the welt was held on with an adhesive. You can see in the picture it even looks to have residual adhesive stuck fast.

My dad's 46 has the rivet holes along the length of the grill, and I see yours does too. I wonder if that was another subtle difference between the 2A and 3A? Or just a random change at some point?

In the box of valve rocker parts just acquired were 12 rockers that look like this....

Were these ever used on 225 V6. Pro's and Con's please

That's installs on the glove box opening to help push the door open when the button is pushed.

Missing on my '60. Don't think it is necessary, however.

I have never seen one of those ... must be a rather early phenom. On the later models, the catch is adjusted so the springiness of the rubber bumpers pushes the striker past the catch.

Metal spring is super nice, very positive action.

My '64 Tux had the glovebox door spring. Unfortunately, it succumbed to rust.

This little bracket came off of an April 1967 225 V6. It was attached to the block just above the starter. I initially thought it was a bracket to hold up the end of the starter that faces toward the front of the Jeep. But there is no attachment place on the starter.

If I turn it up like in the pic, it follows the couture of the block.

It was painted the engine color. Here is pic of just the bracket.

    What is (was) it for?

I think you're probably right, and the replacement starter you now have did not come with the matching bracket.
