That's the original tray. As far as I know, nobody is reproducing them. There are reproductions of the 76-86 trays:
The newer trays can be bolted into the earlier Jeeps. If you're looking for originality, they have a very similar bottom stamping and could probably be modified to mimic the earlier tray without too much work.

Looks like one of the old "sand roll bars" that possibly Smitty Built had. Helped keep your rig from sinking in the sand.

No such thing as original, prior to 1974, except for the Renegades. Aftermarket only.

Looks pretty professional otherwise. I recall those were called "sand bars" presumably to prevent the single bar from sinking into soft sand. I don't know who the manufacturer is.

I put one of the newer style trays in my '75. Looks very much like the original - no one will know it's different except except your CJ enthusiast pals.

Main difference - it clamps the base of the battery rather than the top.

I remember this design in the late 70s or early 80s. Pretty sure it was a popular aftermarket company back then possible Conn-Ferr.

Thanks all. Wonder if anyone would want it? Pretty sure I’m not going to put it back on.

Before you post your picture from your smartphone, edit it in some way. Usually i just crop mine a tiny bit. That, for some reason, always-always, cures the pic orientation problem.

    The question of the decade...

There hard to find but someone might have one they're willing to part with. I'm not parting with mine yet...

Might put a want ad in the Classifieds...

Places like McMaster-Carr probably have generics. Or swipe one off an appliance at the dump...

I know my 66 Tux had an option for bucket seats or the 60/40 split bench seats in the front. These are what I have.

Anyone know what they are from, are they even from a Jeep? Are they worth reconditioning?

Not too familiar with the foam seats, but the pleated bucket seat looks pretty good condition-wise. I'd definately restore that one.

Should a 1966 CJ5 Tux tailgate have a round bar stock inside the top of it?

This is my tailgate that came with it (has a bar):

And this is one I grabbed at the Junkyard in Sac to fix that is in way better shape (no round bar):

  20. the worst thing he did to mine was welding new steel over rusty steel without cutting out the rusty stuff. this has caused it to rust from the inside AND out.
