Lee.... Just finished my horn R&R . I learned to start with the horn itself and work backwards . Take power direct from battery , to see if the horn goes ' BMeep - BMeep '. Mine didn't and after changing out a perfectly good relay, I found an OEM 12V on ebay for $50 ! . Not to be a wise guy but ,the wire at the connecting harness by the horn should only have power when the horn button is pressed. Then , if it does not , and the relay is good, the Horn button contacts can be a little dicey. The spring type copper or brass filament contact strips get tarnished & weak and sometimes that's were the problem is.
Hope this may help. Let me know how you make out . BTW , your Painting skills are to be admired , Sir!

That's certainly not stock for an ECJ5; No relay from the factory. There's a 12 volt feed to one side of the horn, then the other terminal of the horn goes to the aforementioned wire going up the steering column where the metal disk grounds it when pressed thus completing the circuit to ground.

I humbly apologize to all for my reply. I was trying to help, but I am not apples to apples, with this custom power plant build / swap of mine . Your very correct , Howard . I do not have a stock wiring harness in my '75 CJ5. When will I learn to just follow & learn ?

Thank you. You just showed me the problem. I have no relay, but the terminal on my new harness has no voltage. (I checked that). So, I just need to run a new power wire. Thanks

Oh, not much of a painter. Did it outside in my homemade plastic booth. 6 small bugs and some orange peel. But, It cost me less than $100. Looks good at 30 feet in the rain.

I got a bunch of old jeep seats from a guy in Seattle on craigslist. None of the seats were in great condition, but they'll do in the meantime for my '68 project jeep. The hole mounting locations on the seat (marked by blue tape) didn't line up with the holes on my seat bracket.

I cut two long rectangular pieces from 16g and folded an edge over to make them rigid. I drilled matching holes where'd they'd bolt to the seat and drilled holes where they'd bolt to the seat bracket.

i ordered the disk brake conversion parts for my front axle on the '70 cj5. its got 10" drum brakes, but i went on a 60 mile drive yesterday, and it just felt unsafe. after doing the disk brake conversion on the wifes, im pretty comfortable in its vast improvement over stock brakes. i already also have a dual MC, so it wont take much more than an afternoon.
(+2 weeks, knowing my recent history:study:)

150 bucks for the brake parts is cheap enough to not keep me up at night.
i have a NT dana 30 sitting around, but need to re-gear that to be 5.38. so, that was about 600 bucks for the ring and pinion and spider gears and such. for as much off roading i do, the geo conversion is fine for me. some day that dana 30 will get built.

I am now up to date and Trail Rated with the best of them! It is actually serving a purpose covering a 1/2” hole in the dash made by someone in its past :D Sometimes it’s the little things.

    Existing PS Rigid Line.JPG Nice , Man . I wish I was there !
    Trying to solve this problem
I've got a a Gm Hydroboost setup with all four wheels having 11" Bendix brake shoes & drums. Works great. No 'Face Planting' . This is what I'm working on today. Post Note : I've been having on hell of a time adjusting & tightening the PS belt, If you can believe it ! Somethi'n so basic.... yet its been giving me fits ! :banghead:
I found why the 1984 GM adjusting bracket would not pivot . This hard line was holding it in place , by hitting the motor mount . I swear it was just like a 4th hold down nut ! This is for my Hydroboost Pressure line. Ive got to adapt a flex line to this then problem should be solved . Monday Morning , when the Local hose shop opens. :waiting:
