Miter Gauge For Contractor Table Saw

    Somebody here recommended a Micra miter gauge for your contractor saw - here's mine:

    This accessory is a major upgrade for your saw. I bought mine at my local Rockler, but Woodcraft has them too. Ca $75 IIRC.

    I have one and have been recommending them from the day I got mine. It turns any table saw into a very precise tool.

    Beisemeyer is a nice fence. But a $200 accessory for a $400 saw seems a bit of a stretch. One complaint I have about my saw is that the fence rails don't extend far enough, especially on the left side. The fence itself is ok. This fence would address that problem, but so would longer rails.

    I have a Incra Miter Gauge, but use my table saw mainly for ripping. For cross cuts I use a Milwaukee 12" sliding compound miter saw with a digital read out. The Incra Miter is nice too...

    I have a Hitatachi miter saw. I had a $300 blade on it and it cut great. Using a normal blade it flutters and does not give a great cut. My table saw always cuts straight on. No blade flutter, no error, just precision. With my incra gauge I can make any cut dead nuts on. By far the most accurate tool (other than my CNC) I've ever had in the shop.

    No miter saw - no place for one. I have to make do with my little table saw (which normally lives on a shelf in the basement) and my circular saws.
