I have a 1979 JEEP CJ5. I purchased a new Bestop soft top. The top itself went on good. The doors have been a real pain. The passenger side closes, but not where it needs to be in the indents for the door. The driver side is off bad! It's all out of whack! I adjusted the hinges on the Jeep body itself, but it's still way out. I can't get it to even latch like the passenger side! Please help. Anybody with any suggestions would be tremendously appreciated.

Post some pictures of the issue so we all can see where the adjustments are needed. The top and doors on mine were stored for quite a few years and when I installed them last summer found they needed to be tweaked a bit.

Maybe some tweaking of the door or the pivot pins of the door to hinge sockets. Give Bestop a try--contact number 800-845-3567

I had to bend the doors and the pins still not happy with the fit but they close.

Careful on the pins, one of mine just snapped of when trying to adjust mine .

Just put a new SuperTop on my 73. My doors were a little off too, but not too bad. After adjusting the hinge mounts on the body (I changed my 73 windshield frame out for 76+ and bought a 76+ top) and the lower door pin (which is adjustable) and a little bending.... mine fit pretty good now.

I just installed a new Bestop on my ‘66 to replace the damaged vinyl windows (PO used an SOS pad on them!)
The top and associated hardware all work perfect. The doors are the 2 piece. I thought I could just put the new bottom door halves onto the hinges already on. Not a chance! The new door pins sure were off, and way bent out of plumb/straight. I used the lower half of the exsisting doors and put the new top half with the window on.
    Side note:
The condition of the exsisting top was like new, the date on the top said 2010. Only the window were badly damaged. If I didn’t have the doors already, these new ones would be causing me all the same issues you have mentioned.
