Did some parts cleaning and painting. Cleaned off the work bench. Going to bike race over the weekend so not much of any jeep work coming.

Been over a week since I’ve been able to work on the Jeep. Had several hours today so the front axle went on first. Swapped Dana 30.

I did have a little time to do the tie rod flip last week

Next up is plumbing the rear.

I think I’ll shorten the line on Passenger side.

Went from stock single reservoir MC to this kit from Herm. The proportioning valve is from an XJ with disk front.

Maybe have time to finish plumbing front brakes tomorrow.

    Yeah, it's a touch long isn't it.

I was trying to hide lines behind the axle tube but it probably looks better sitting on the top edge.

I had no idea how the brakes went on. Spent a couple hours doing the passenger side.

And 15min to put on driver side.

Picked up this rear fuel tank today. Cleaned up well. I’ll paint the skid tomorrow and try to get it installed.

That's what i hated the most on the dana30 and dana 44 from scout. They are a bit hard to work with.

Since i went with the chevy galiper it make the job way easier.

The tank is in. A couple hours but nothing to difficult.

I welded the nuts to the frame to make removal and reinstall lots easier.

Back to the brakes. My plunger is too long so I cut some threads and took off 1/2”. Got enough threads to cut another inch off.

I’m working on power steering next. Figured I better put the engine and tub on for that.

Took less than an hour. The guy who straightened my frame did excellent on the motor mounts. It slid right down perfectly.

Headers shouldn’t be in the way of the steering.

2.5” lift YJ springs - I think this is more like 4”!! It is quite a climb to get into the Jeep now. Tires are 31”, same as I have new in storage.

:poo:The transmission cover was kind of ghetto to start with. I got in a hurry and hacked it badly. Call me P.O. :banghead:

I’m embarrassed to even show this. :poo::poo: I’ll definitely make this right soon and update a photo.

    Black wheels alert!!!

I took a wheel out of the attic this morning to check the clearance on the new disc brakes. The old wheels definitely rubbed and I put a couple washers behind just to get the roller.

Here is the clearance. Only about 1/8". Anyone think that will be a problem?

It may be if you use a stick on type wheel weight on the back side of the wheel when balancing the tire.

Speaking of problems. I'll never fit in here!!!

I wasn't planning on doing the wheelhouse mod but since I'm doing EVERYTHING else I might as well!
