And you could probably add to it, improve it relatively easy if need be.

I have a 231 with 190 thermostat. It gets a little hot at times but not too bad, maybe 210 to 215 on long slow climbs. I just removed a flex fan, too noisy and dangerous, and replaced it with a stock fan. I do have a pusher electric fan to help but I am also going to try and fab a shroud.

I'd like to make one as I plan to fit a tall winch with plate to the front bumper I also do not like the chance I'll get a knuckle buster from the fan as I work to tune the v6 that still retains the air pump. I got very close to learning the hard way to remember shroud less radiators can be sadistic.

A fan without a shroud will effectively draw air though the radiator in the circumference of the fan blade. A shroud that covers the entire radiator and fits reletively closely to the fan diameter will pull through the entire surface of the radiator. A fan shroud makes use of the actual core size which can be 30% more than that covered by just the fan's diameter; much more efficient when cooling is marginal in hot weather.
    I would recommend a shroud.
